The end of the summer season began on the 23rd of August with

The New York City Friends of Clearwater
Water Festival

We had our annual Water Festival at the Lower East Side Ecology Center with music and environmental education being featured.

I was responsible for organizing the music performances once again. It was our sixth annual event. The first one featured Pete Seeger. This time we remembered Pete with songs and spirit. Thanks to Edie Kantrowitz, Donna Stein and the rest of the NYC Friends crew for another successful day in the sun and on the water. Thanks also to all of the speakers, including Ken Gale, who organized that part of the afternoon. Thanks also to the Lower East Side Ecology Center and my music co-captain, Mercy Van Vlack.  [More pics at my Facebook photo album page.]

Here is a 90 second video of my performance contribution to the afternoon.
It is a vaudevillian view of fracking.  And, yes, singing can save people!
